Albert Huerta
Mr. Alberto Huerta is a native of Laredo, Texas, born to humble and hardworking parents. He attended Texas A & I University in Kingsville, Texas where he received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees. Mr. Huerta was honored by President Lyndon B. Johnson at the White House for being one of the first volunteers accepted in the program created by Johnson, The National Teacher Corps. In 1967, Mr. Huerta married Norma Garcia and together they began a family.
An ex-school teacher, Mr. Huerta received his law degree from St. Mary's School of Law in San Antonio, Texas and then moved his family to Corpus Christi. He successfully limited his practice to the field of personal injury and became an advocate for injured people. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Hispanic Bar Association, and the American Board of Trial Advocates. In 1989, Mr. Huerta was listed by Forbes Magazine as #51 of the top 60 most successful lawyers in America, the only Hispanic named to the list. He has also been active in civic, religious and educational organizations in the community.
In 1993, Mr. Huerta entered a business venture with his son, Joseph, which involved the ownership and operation of Texas Sky Festival Park. The Park was a 100 acre concert venue that catered to nationally popular music groups. Joseph was Vice-President of the entertainment venue and the venture was successful under his direction. In March of 1998, Joseph was critically injured while he was skiing with Mr. Huerta's other two children, David and Lisa. After falling into a ravine, Joseph suffered a traumatic brain injury and spent 11 days in a coma. Doctors repeatedly told Mr. Huerta and his family that Joseph's prognosis was grave and that even if Joseph awoke from the coma, he would live with extensive brain damage. In the grips of despair, Mr. Huerta asked the Lord to return his son to him; in exchange, Mr. Huerta promised the Lord he would change his way of living and do everything he could to glorify and magnify the Lord's name. The Lord did return his son and Mr. Huerta changed his life, receiving in the process the gift of healing.
In June of 1998, at the Lord's request, Mr. Huerta closed the concert venue and founded My Father's House, a non-denominational healing ministry. Every Tuesday hundreds of people come to My Father's House seeking the Lord's healing grace. Mr. Huerta is merely an instrument of His divine healing powers and has laid hands on more than 200,000 people. Over the years Mr. Huerta has spent his time and money transforming the Park into a holy place by constructing extensive monuments to the Lord, including a replica of Jesus' tomb, a 70 ft luminous cross, a healing water cross, Divine Mercy Chapel, and three 36' crosses representing the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
